Welcome to Saint Viator Jr Lions website!

Jr Lions, which is affiliated with Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights, supports the growth of youth lacrosse throughout the Northwest Suburbs. As a feeder program for the Saint Viator lacrosse program and we consider all our Jr Lions players to be the future of the Saint Viator Lacrosse program.  On this site you'll be able to find more information about our program, registration, uniforms, schedules and more.

Jr Lions will Rip The Cow

This spring, the boys will play in the Rip The Cow Tournament (http://www.uslaxevents.com/page/show/1396784-rip-the-cow), which is in Franklin, Wisconsin at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex (https://goo.gl/maps/wGFfJUKXud42).  The tournament dates are April 29th and 30th.  We think the RTC will provide a good level of competition for the boys.  For those of you familiar with Top Cheese and Rip The Duck, we expect the competition at RTC to be somewhere between Top Cheese and Rip The Duck.  This tournament also includes tickets for the boys to see Marquette play Denver at Marquette University’s Valley Fields (https://goo.gl/maps/CKTQpmTqrXk).

We have blocked 50 rooms for Jr Lions families at the Country Inn (https://www.countryinns.com/milwaukee-hotel-wi-53221/wimilcty), which is about 10 minutes from the Rip The Cow fields.  The Country Inn is located here: https://goo.gl/maps/Lfh33ds2jbM2.  The County Inn has a pool and outside green space for the boys to play (no lacrosse balls, please).

Reservations can be made by calling 414-762-6018, and asking for the Jr. Lions Lacrosse room block.  Our group rate is $95 per night, for either a 2 queen room or king room with pull out couch. Reservations are free to cancel 48 hours in advance, but will be assessed a one night rate + tax if canceled in less than 48 hours. Rooms are available both Friday and Saturday night. Typically, our teams will play early games on Saturday morning, but we won’t know the schedule until likely the week of the tournament.  Please book your rooms sooner, rather than later.  If you are unable to get rooms at the Country Inn, there is a Hampton Inn right next door (http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/wisconsin/hampton-inn-milwaukee-airport-MKEAPHX/index.html).

Hit the Wall 15 Minutes a Day!
Wall ball will improve your stick skills!
Here is a great wall ball routine
As an incentive for our players to improve, we’ll be using the wall ball app Snypr, which records and reports the number of throws your son makes while practicing.  If your son has access to an Apple or Android device, the Snypr app allows your son to record his throws (see demo at www.snypr.com ).  Use of the app IS NOT A REQUIREMENT, but it does enable your son and his coaches to easily track the work that the team is doing outside of practice.
For Majors (7th and 8th grade) players, use the team code 96427 when signing up for an account on the Snypr app.
For Minors (5th and 6th grade) players, use the team code 71280.
For Juniors (3rd and 4th grade) players, use the team code 03813.
We anticipate that our coaches will set up wall ball challenges throughout the season for which they may make prizes (such as gift certificates to Dick’s Sporting Goods) available.  In addition, they will likely recognize those players who have worked hard outside of practice.
Whether your son uses the app or not, please encourage them to play WALL BALL, WALL BALL, WALL BALL.
GO LIONS!!
